Biden's Decline and Potential Second-Term Mistake

The Wall Street Journal editorial board has argued that President Joe Biden is too old to run for re-election in 2024, citing his declining health and age. They claim that electing an octogenarian in obvious decline for another four years could be a historic mistake and that asking the country to elect a man who is 80 years old and whose second term would end when he is 86 is a risky act that borders on selfish. The editors also argued that Vice President Kamala Harris would make a poor commander-in-chief and that she would be nearly unelectable should Biden be forced to drop out of the race.
