US Government Offers Lighthouses for Sale and Giveaway.

The US government is giving away or auctioning off 10 lighthouses to preserve the century-old structures that are no longer essential for navigation due to modern technology. Six lighthouses are being offered at no cost to government agencies, nonprofits, educational organizations, or other entities willing to maintain and preserve them for public use. The other four lighthouses, including Cleveland Harbor West Pierhead Light, will be sold at auction.
