Idaho approves firing squad for executions.

Idaho has become the fifth state in the US to allow executions by firing squad if lethal injection drugs are not available, under a new law signed by Republican Governor Brad Little. The American Civil Liberties Union of Idaho called the move "extremely disappointing" and said firing squads were "especially gruesome". The state has been unable to carry out the scheduled execution of an inmate because it was unable to obtain the drug pentobarbital.
