US intelligence leak threatens national security and allies.

Ukraine's top military intelligence official, Maj. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov, said that Russia is the only beneficiary of the recent massive leak of US government secrets. He confirmed that he spoke with his US counterparts soon after the leak came to light and insisted that there was no risk that the matter would damage the relationship between his country and the US. Budanov talked up the Ukrainian military's ability to make headway in an upcoming and long-awaited counteroffensive against Russian forces, despite US officials suggesting in private that any prospective gains will likely be more modest than last year's lightning operation that returned huge swathes of territory to Ukrainian government control.
