Ukrainian Military Officer Orchestrated Nord Stream Sabotage, Reports Reveal

A joint investigation by The Washington Post and Der Spiegel has identified a Ukrainian special forces commander, Roman Chervinsky, as playing a key role in sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipelines in September 2021. Chervinsky allegedly oversaw logistics and support for a team that placed explosive charges on the pipelines, cutting off a major route for Russian gas exports to Europe. The investigation suggests that Chervinsky took orders from senior Ukrainian officials, including General Valerii Zaluzhny. Both Ukraine and Russia have denied involvement in the blasts, which caused damage to the pipelines and heightened tensions between the two countries.
