North Korea's Provocative Missile Launches Continue

North Korea fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile towards the East Sea, according to South Korean military. This comes after North Korea threatened "shocking" consequences in response to what it called provocative U.S. reconnaissance activity near its territory. The missile was expected to land at sea outside of Japan's exclusive economic zone. South Korea has bolstered its surveillance and maintained readiness in coordination with the United States. North Korea accused the U.S. of sending spy planes over its exclusive economic zone, warning of a potential incident. North Korea has conducted numerous missile launches this year, including an intercontinental ballistic missile test in 2022.
