American Citizen Detained in Russia on Drug Charges

A US citizen, Robert Woodland, has been detained in Moscow on drug-related charges and given a two-month detention period by a Moscow court. Woodland, who is of Russian origin and was adopted by US scientists, is accused of preparing and attempting a crime, as well as illegally dealing with drugs. This comes after a series of high-profile detentions of US citizens and dual nationals in Russia, including a Wall Street Journal reporter, Evan Gershkovich, whom the US considers wrongfully detained.
