Rising Number of Student Suicides in North Carolina Universities.

Two North Carolina State University students died by suicide, bringing the campus death toll this year to 14. The university has opened its counseling center for drop-in visits and announced other resources available to the NC State community. In total, seven of the 14 deaths have come by suicide. A student task force presented a report in February that outlined how tough college has been this year, with 34% of students surveyed dealing with some form of depression and 12% having suicidal thoughts. NC State has brought on more help in the counseling center and there are now more than 45 clinical positions.
