Mass Evacuations at Los Angeles Hospital Amidst Power Outage

A partial blackout at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles has resulted in the evacuation of some patients, with LAFD paramedics carrying them down stairs to waiting ambulances due to non-operational elevators. The LAFD is working with hospital staff to identify patients, particularly those on ventilators, who need to be transferred to other hospitals. A total of 30 critical patients are being transported by LAFD ambulances, while the remaining 211 non-critical patients are being moved to a different building on the hospital campus. The cause of the blackout is unknown at this time.
