"Airborne Aid: Assisting Endangered Sea Turtles"

The warming oceans are causing an increase in cold-stunned sea turtles washing ashore in Massachusetts, particularly the critically-endangered Kemp's Ridley turtles. The New England Aquarium has an 80% success rate in rehabilitating these turtles, but with the rising numbers, other facilities are needed. Turtles Fly Too, a non-profit organization, coordinates volunteer pilots to transport the turtles to rehab facilities across the country. Despite the lack of funding, these efforts have resulted in 90% of the turtles being successfully released back into the ocean. This collaborative effort highlights the importance of conservation and giving endangered sea turtles a second chance.
