Tragic Death Valley Hike Claims Life of 71-Year-Old Southern California Hiker

A 71-year-old Southern California hiker, Steve Curry, died after collapsing during an hours-long hike in Death Valley National Park, believed to be due to heat-related causes. Curry, an avid outdoor enthusiast, had spoken to a reporter about hiking in extreme conditions just hours before his collapse. Death Valley, known as the hottest place on Earth, has recorded sweltering temperatures during a record-warm summer. Curry's death marks the second hiker fatality in the park this month.
