The Fountains of Bellagio on the Las Vegas Strip have been paused due to the rare landing of a Yellow-billed Loon, one of the rarest birds in the U.S. The Bellagio is working with state wildlife officials to rescue the bird, which is considered an international species of concern and one of the 10 rarest birds that regularly breed in the U.S. The Yellow-billed Loons raise their young in northern Alaska, and this year, the species will be considered for listing under the Endangered Species Act.
