Massive Power Outage Plunges Thousands into Darkness Due to Downed Transmission Line

Power has been restored to all customers in East Baton Rouge Parish after a transmission source was lost, causing an outage that left nearly 4,500 customers without electricity. The outage primarily affected the 70802 and 70808 zip codes. Some schools, including LSU, canceled classes for the day due to the power outage. Entergy Louisiana has completed restoration work, but a small group of customers near the downed transmission line may still be without power as crews continue additional repairs.
