U of M President Joan Gabel to Lead University of Pittsburgh.

University of Minnesota President Joan Gabel has been named the new chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Gabel oversaw operations at the University of Minnesota during the COVID-19 pandemic and faced controversy over her board position with Securian Financial. She had agreed to recuse herself from any decisions on contracts between the university and Securian Financial and its affiliates, but later resigned from the directorship.
