"Fallen Syracuse Officers Honored by First Responders and Community"

Nearly 100 emergency vehicles escorted the hearse carrying the body of slain Onondaga County Sheriff’s deputy, Lieutenant Michael Hoosock, from the medical examiner’s office to the funeral home. Hoosock, a seasoned veteran of the sheriff’s office and a volunteer firefighter, was shot and killed while responding to a call at a home. The procession was joined by many fire departments and captured on camera from various locations, with the community showing support as the hearse passed underneath bridges. The gunman also shot and killed a Syracuse Police officer before being fatally shot by other officers. Funeral plans for the officers have not been announced.
