Teen Arrested for Plotting Mass Shooting at Ohio Synagogue

A 13-year-old boy in Ohio has been arrested and accused of conspiring to carry out a mass shooting at the Temple Israel synagogue. The boy was allegedly communicating with an unknown person in Washington state through the Discord group-chat app. The FBI was alerted to the boy's online discussions by employees of Discord. During an interview with the FBI, the boy admitted to being part of multiple antisemitic and political groups on Discord. The boy has been charged with inducing panic and disorderly conduct and is scheduled for trial in December. Antisemitic hate crimes have been on the rise, and the Anti-Defamation League expressed horror at the allegations, emphasizing the need to address hate and threats on social media.
