DNA Evidence Links Former Neighbor to 28-Year-Old Murder Case

After 28 years, DNA evidence found on the clasp of Wilma Mobley's underwear has led authorities to identify her former neighbor, Danny Lee Kennison, as her killer. Mobley was found dead in 1995 from strangulation and an "attack with an axe type instrument." Kennison, who died by suicide in 2001, was previously considered a possible suspect. The case went cold until new investigators reopened it in 2022 and submitted evidence for advanced DNA analysis. The recent testing revealed a significant amount of DNA matching Kennison, leading to the closure of the cold case.
