"13-Year-Old Charged with Murder of Cousin in Birmingham Shooting"

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of his 15-year-old cousin after a fatal shooting in an east Birmingham home. The victim, Markell Sanders, was found unresponsive inside the residence and pronounced dead at the scene. Few details have been released, and efforts to reach the victim's family for comment have been unsuccessful. The suspect has been turned in to the custody of the Jefferson County Youth Detention Center, and the case has been presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office personnel assigned to Family Court.
