Alaska's Willow Project: Jobs, Revenue, Lawsuits, and Political Maneuvers.

The Biden administration has approved the Willow Project, an oil drilling operation in Alaska's National Petroleum Reserve, despite objections from environmental groups. The project is expected to create over 2,500 construction jobs and approximately 300 long-term jobs, and provide between $8 billion and $17 billion in new tax revenue to the federal government, the state of Alaska, and North Slope Borough communities. ConocoPhillips, which will develop the project, estimates it will yield a peak of 180,000 barrels of oil per day, reducing U.S. reliance on foreign oil. Environmental groups have continued to express opposition to the project despite its approval.
