Unveiling Uncertainty Processing Peculiarities in OCD through Brain Imaging

A brain imaging study has revealed that individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) exhibit peculiarities in their decision-making process. The study found that those with OCD were more cautious, took longer to make choices, and had less successful outcomes compared to healthy participants. Functional brain imaging showed that individuals with OCD had difficulty differentiating between high and low uncertainty, with reduced brain activity in regions associated with uncertainty processing.
