A Brazilian university professor with severe allergies, including to peanuts, seafood, dairy, latex, and more, spent an entire trans-Atlantic flight trapped in the bathroom after a reaction to the inflight fish meal. Lucas Gonçalves Dias, 32, had informed the airline of his condition before the flight, and when the fish meal was served, he experienced sweating, itching, and redness, prompting him to seek refuge in the bathroom. Dias has been hospitalized over 20 times due to his condition, including a harrowing episode where exposure to allergens led to anaphylactic shock and cardiorespiratory arrest.
