Unexpected Work Shift on Day Off Turns into Life-Saving Miracle

A UK man's life was saved when he went to work last minute to cover a coworker's shift at Yeovil Hospital. While working, he experienced a severe headache and numbness in his left arm, and was rushed to the emergency room. A scan revealed he had an inoperable glioma, a type of brain tumor. Doctors informed him that if he had stayed home that day, he could have died. Now living with a permanent shunt in his head, he continues to battle the tumor, which has caused a mini-stroke and memory problems. He has since changed his focus from working all hours to living, and will be participating in a charity walk to raise awareness about brain cancer.
