Ashley Judd urges responsible media coverage of suicide.

Actress and social activist Ashley Judd gave a moving speech at the National Press Club on how the media should report on suicide, following the death of her mother, Naomi Judd. Judd implored journalists to follow the reporting standards established by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, including never saying "committed" and always providing the suicide hotline number. She also shared about her mother's battle with mental illness and the need for common sense and basic decency in reporting. Judd received the Survivor of Suicide Loss Lifesaver Award for her advocacy efforts.
