Andrew Bellucci, a renowned pizza chef, died suddenly at his Astoria shop, Andrew Belluci’s Pizzeria, at the age of 59. Bellucci had a complicated career in the industry, including a stint at Lombardi's and a 13-month jail sentence for fraud. He returned to pizza-making in 2021 with the opening of Bellucci Pizza in Astoria. Despite legal troubles with a former business partner, Bellucci was back in the thick of it and at the top of his game.
