"Norwegian Dawn Quarantined Off Mauritius Due to Stomach Illness Outbreak"

The Norwegian Dawn cruise ship is currently quarantined off the coast of Mauritius due to a reported stomach illness among a small number of guests, suspected to be cholera. The government of Mauritius has delayed disembarkation for the current cruise and embarkation for the next cruise by two days. Norwegian is providing complimentary hotel accommodations for guests until they are able to board and is implementing elevated sanitation procedures aboard the ship. Cholera is a waterborne bacterial infection with symptoms including profuse diarrhea, vomiting, thirst, and leg cramps, and can be treated with oral or intravenous antibiotics.
