"Biometric Advancements Streamline Airport Security for PreCheck Travelers"

United Airlines has introduced "Touchless ID" technology at Chicago's O'Hare and Los Angeles international airports, allowing TSA PreCheck members to go through security by scanning their faces without showing physical IDs or boarding passes. Passengers can enroll in Touchless ID through the United app by scanning their passports and adding their Known Traveler Numbers, and then opt in during mobile check-in. The technology is currently available for single-passenger reservations for those at least 18 years old, with plans to expand to more airport features. Delta Air Lines has already implemented similar technology at its hubs, and the Department of Homeland Security is testing a self-service screening option using facial recognition and baggage scanning pods at an airport in Las Vegas.
