American Airlines planes face multiple fire scares and emergency landings.

An American Airlines flight bound for Dallas-Fort Worth experienced a mechanical issue and caught fire on the runway at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. Passengers panicked as flames and smoke came out of the wing of the plane, but no injuries were reported. The pilot was able to taxi the plane back to the gate using the plane’s power. The airline says the plane is out of service for maintenance.
