South Korean semiconductor giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have been granted an indefinite waiver by the US to supply chip equipment to their China factories without separate approvals. The move eases uncertainties for the companies' operations and investments in China, allowing them to pursue long-term global management strategies. The US Department of Commerce is updating its "validated end user" list to include Samsung and SK Hynix, eliminating the need for separate export permissions. Samsung and SK Hynix, which control a significant portion of the global memory chip market, welcomed the decision, stating that it will contribute to the stabilization of the global semiconductor supply chain.
