According to a Reuters investigation, some SpaceX workers have resorted to taking Adderall stimulants without a prescription and sleeping in the bathroom to keep up with the demanding work pace set by Elon Musk. The investigation also revealed that employees would sometimes work over 80 hours per week and receive IV treatments to address the heat while working in tent structures at the launch site. SpaceX had at least 600 worker injuries over 9 years, with some employees raising safety concerns related to Musk's behavior and aversion to safety measures.
