Chipotle's Autocado: Revolutionizing Guacamole Prep with Robotic Efficiency

Chipotle is testing a new avocado processing robot called Autocado, developed in collaboration with automation solutions company Vebu. The robot cuts, cores, and peels avocados, reducing guacamole prep time by 50%. Chipotle plans to roll out Autocado to one of its restaurants later this year. This is the second robot being tested by Chipotle, following the introduction of Chippy, a robot that makes tortilla chips. The company sees automation and AI as having "endless possibilities" and is exploring their potential through its Cultivate Next fund. Chipotle's shares have risen nearly 48% this year.
