A recent survey by GOBankingRates reveals the most and least expensive states for singles to live in the United States. Hawaii tops the list as the most expensive state, with an annual living wage of $108,847, followed by Massachusetts, California, New York, and Alaska. The study found that housing costs are the biggest contributor to high living expenses. On the other hand, Mississippi is the most affordable state for singles, where a living wage of $45,906 is required. Other affordable states include Oklahoma, Alabama, Kansas, and Arkansas.
