Salmonella Cases Double: CDC Expands Warning on Charcuterie Meats

The CDC has expanded its warning about salmonella poisoning linked to charcuterie meat snack trays sold at Sam's Club and Costco stores, with at least 47 people in 22 states falling ill and 10 hospitalized after consuming Busseto and Fratelli Beretta brand meats. Consumers are advised not to eat, serve, or sell any lots of the affected products, which include the Busseto charcuterie sampler at Sam's Club and the Fratelli Beretta Antipasto Gran Beretta at Costco, as salmonella can cause severe illness, especially in vulnerable populations.
