Salmonella Alert: Cucumbers and Costco Eggs Recalled

A salmonella outbreak has led to the recall of 10,000 cartons of Costco's Kirkland brand eggs and SunFed whole cucumbers across multiple states. While no illnesses have been reported from the eggs, 68 people in 19 states have fallen ill from the cucumbers, with 18 hospitalized. The recalled eggs were sold in five states, and the cucumbers were distributed in 26 states and parts of Canada. Salmonella infections can cause severe gastrointestinal symptoms and are a leading cause of foodborne illness hospitalizations.
