"Recalled Snack Products Linked to Lead Poisoning in Children"

WanaBana USA is voluntarily recalling its WanaBana Apple Cinnamon Fruit Purée pouches due to elevated levels of lead, which can cause lead poisoning and have detrimental health impacts, especially in children. The FDA advises parents to contact healthcare providers for blood tests if their children have consumed the product, as lead poisoning may not show immediate symptoms. Symptoms of lead poisoning include headache, abdominal pain, vomiting, anemia, irritability, lethargy, and weight loss. The FDA reports four illnesses related to the recalled products and urges consumers to stop using them and return them for a refund. The source of lead contamination is still under investigation.
