Hillshire Brands Company recalls packaged meat over foreign matter contamination

Hillshire Brands Company is recalling approximately 15,876 pounds of blended meat and poultry smoked sausage products due to potential contamination with bone fragments. The products, produced on June 14, 2023, were found to contain extraneous materials after consumer complaints. Consumers are advised not to consume the affected products and to either discard them or return them to the point of purchase. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is conducting recall effectiveness checks to ensure that customers are notified and the recalled products are removed from circulation.
