Summit Carbon Solutions has pivoted its Midwest CO2 pipeline from underground storage to supplying CO2 for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), aiming to boost oil production in basins like Powder River, Bakken, and Permian. The shift comes amid ongoing eminent-domain battles and permit challenges in Iowa and surrounding states, and after federal tax credits began rewarding CO2 used for EOR as well as storage, prompting Summit to adjust its messaging away from climate terms.
