Avista Rapidly Restores Natural Gas Services with 900 'Relights' per Hour

Avista is working to restore natural gas services to customers in the Palouse and Lewiston-Clarkston Valley region, with up to 900 relights per hour being completed. The company has developed restoration maps and estimates a time-frame of one to two days per zone for the relight process. Over 300 mutual aid partners and 25 private and local HVAC contractors have been deployed to assist with the restoration efforts. Avista expects to have natural gas services fully restored by the end of day Tuesday. The relight process involves a service person visiting each property and checking appliances for safety.
