Oregon Launches Paid Time Off Program for Residents Starting August 14

Starting August 14, Oregon residents can apply for the Paid Leave Oregon program, which provides up to 12 weeks of paid time off for medical or family leave, including for victims of sexual assault or domestic violence. The program is funded by a 1% contribution split between workers and employers. To qualify, residents must have earned at least $1,000 in the past year and can use the leave as needed, whether for a day or all at once. Applicants must notify their employer in advance for planned events or within 24 hours for emergencies.
