Indiana's Pay Growth Lags Behind National Average

Indiana ranks near the bottom at 47th in annual pay growth, according to a report by ADP. While CNBC ranked Indiana as one of the top states for business, it also named it one of the worst states to live and work in. The state's stagnant pay growth of 5.2% lags behind the national median of 6.2% and neighboring states. Experts attribute the wage growth issues to a growing skill gap in technical skills, engineering, science, mathematics, and technology. Indiana lawmakers have passed bills to address workforce training and development.
