Massive Data Breach Exposes Over 744,000 Indiana Medicaid Members

More than 744,000 Indiana Medicaid members have been affected by a data security incident caused by a breach in the MOVEit application used by Maximus Health Services, a third-party contractor. Personal information, including names, addresses, case numbers, and Medicaid numbers, was exposed. Four members' social security numbers were impacted. Maximus has taken the application offline, applied patches, and engaged forensic investigation firms. The incident did not affect Maximus systems beyond MOVEit. Impacted members are advised to monitor their accounts and credit reports and can access complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services.
