CFPB Staffer Sends 250K Consumers' Data to Personal Account

A former employee of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) transferred confidential information on 256,000 consumers and 45 financial institutions to a personal email account. The CFPB has described the incident as a major breach, but there is no evidence that the records were shared beyond the former employee's personal email account.
