Postal Worker in Ballantyne Steals $1.9 Million Worth of Checks

A former USPS processing clerk in Ballantyne, Charlotte, has been accused of stealing over 200 checks worth a total of $1.9 million from businesses with P.O. boxes at the post office. Dontavis Romario Truesdale allegedly sold the stolen checks to co-conspirators who would deposit and withdraw the cash before the banks detected the fraud. Truesdale has been charged with conspiracy to commit financial institution fraud and theft of mail, and if convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison.
