Generac Power Systems is recalling around 64,000 portable generators sold in the US and Canada due to the risk of fire and burns. The fuel tanks of the GP15000E and GP17500E units may fail to vent adequately, causing excess fuel vapor pressure and potential fuel expulsion when opened. The recall comes during hurricane season, when many people rely on generators for power after storms. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received reports of overheating and severe burn injuries related to the generators. Generac is offering a free repair kit to affected consumers.
