Houston Car Wash Chain Forced to Pay $114K in Overtime Wages After Labor Department Investigation

The US Department of Labor has recovered over $100,000 for 92 workers after an investigation found that a Houston car wash chain, Dr. Car Wash Plus, denied overtime pay to its employees. The car wash chain only paid straight time for hours worked without covering any overtime premium for when employees worked over 40 hours a week. The company also failed to keep accurate records of the number of hours worked and categorized pay for hours worked over 40 as commission payment, which is a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
