Study Finds Tesla Drivers Have Highest Accident Rates

A study by LendingTree has found that Tesla drivers have the highest accident rate among major car brands, with 23.5 accidents per 1,000 drivers in the US. Tesla drivers also had the second-highest number of driving incidents, including accidents and DUIs, speedings, and citations. The study suggests that certain vehicle types may attract riskier drivers. Tesla is also facing scrutiny over the safety of its Autopilot feature, with concerns about misuse and crashes. The company recently recalled over two million vehicles due to software concerns, and there have been 736 crashes involving Teslas in Autopilot mode since 2019, resulting in 17 fatalities. Tesla is also facing legal claims related to its Autosteer technology.
