Jeep recalls over 200,000 SUVs worldwide for fire risk.

Stellantis is recalling nearly 220,000 Jeep Cherokee SUVs from the 2014 through 2016 model years worldwide due to a fire risk caused by water getting into the liftgate control computer, causing an electrical short. The company has not yet developed a fix and is advising owners to park their vehicles outdoors and away from other vehicles. The power liftgates may stop working before the SUVs catch fire. Stellantis recalled many of the same vehicles in 2015 to fix a similar problem.
