Ford has announced price increases for certain trims of the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck and the discontinuation of others. The entry-level F-150 Lightning Pro now starts at $57,090, reflecting a $5,000 increase, while the XLT trim sees a more than $10,000 hike to $67,090, with no option for a larger capacity battery. A new "Flash" trim has been introduced, and the high-end Platinum trim received a price cut. Additionally, Ford has reduced its production rate for the F-150 Lightning by half for 2024. Despite these changes, the F-150 Lightning remains America's best-selling electric pickup, with Ford adjusting its strategy to balance sales growth, profitability, and customer access to tax benefits.
