Bentley Production Chief Takes Over Troubled VW Software Division

Volkswagen has replaced the CEO, CFO, and CTO of its software unit, Cariad, with Peter Bosch, who was previously responsible for manufacturing at VW's Bentley brand. The move comes as the automaker struggles to launch software in its vehicles and is at least two years behind schedule. Cariad was formed in 2020 to develop software-defined vehicles that compete with Tesla and generate revenue through in-car entertainment and services. The leadership shakeup is part of a restructuring effort to advance strategic, structural, and personnel development. VW is also adding two software experts to the board.
