A Lyft driver allegedly drove off with a passenger's cat still inside, sparking a global search effort. After failed attempts to contact the driver, the passenger filed a police report and launched a social media campaign. The search for the cat, named Tux, gained attention online and offline, with strangers joining search parties and sharing flyers. Lyft eventually formed a search party and sent alerts to all riders and drivers in Austin. The cat was found by the police, tired and dehydrated, near a realtor's office.
