Microsoft is teaming up with various organizations in the journalism industry to integrate generative AI into newsrooms. Partnerships include Semafor for AI tools, CUNY for an AI Journalism Lab, the Online News Association for AI programming, the GroundTruth Project for an AI track, and Nota for AI tools in newsrooms. Microsoft aims to support newsrooms in using AI to grow audiences, streamline tasks, and build sustainable operations. The company is also reportedly paying Semafor a substantial sum to sponsor a breaking news feed called "Signals."
